Shame on Matt Gaetz of Niceville, FL for failing to defend Lori Klausutis of Niceville, FL.

 

In his district, she and some of her family and friends were not just your constituents, they were, and are still, your neighbors.

 

Yet you remain silent as Trump defames this woman who was "totally devoted to her husband and sang in the choir at her Catholic church".

"Lori Klausutis was a constituent services coordinator in one of Joe Scarborough’s congressional offices, located in Fort Walton Beach, Florida, while Scarborough was in Congress. Klausutis was found dead on the floor near her desk in the Fort Walton Beach, Florida, office in July 2001. An autopsy by Medical Examiner Dr. Michael Berkland revealed a previously undiagnosed heart-valve irregularity, floppy mitral valve disease, that caused a cardiac arrhythmia that in turn halted her heart, stopped her breathing, and caused the 28-year-old to lose consciousness, fall, and hit her head on the edge of a desk on July 19, 2001. Klausutis' cause of death was determined at the time of death to be due to natural causes, and local authorities have never attempted to re-investigate because there was no evidence of an alternative explanation for her death. Scarborough was in Washington, D.C. at the time of her death in Florida."

I have no doubt that this explains Lori's death because in 2006 I passed out in my office, fell and hit my head on the edge of a desk. The cause was different, but it happened during working hours so I received immediate attention and was taken to the hospital.

Yet, Trump has repeatedly advocated a baseless conspiracy theory that suggested Joe Scarborough was involved in the death because she worked for Scarborough while he was a member of Congress. Trump labeled Lori's death an unsolved "cold case" in one of multiple tweets, and called on his followers to continue to "keep digging" and to "use forensic geniuses" to find out more about the death. Scarborough's co-host of Morning Joe and wife, Mika Brzezinski, called the president a "cruel, sick, disgusting person" for his tweets, and urged Twitter to remove Trump's tweets. Scarborough called Trump's tweet "unspeakably cruel".

In May 2020, Lori's widower husband "asked Twitter chief executive officer Jack Dorsey to delete tweets by President Trump furthering a baseless conspiracy theory about his wife’s death".

And in September 2020, her widower husband publicly pleaded "with President Trump to stop exploiting the death of his late wife – [calling] the president's promotion of a conspiracy theory about it 'just inhuman.'"

But Trump is a wicked man.

​He cares nothing for the pain he causes others. In the first debates he continued his 'inhuman' insults, this time directed at Biden's dead son.

Mr. Gaetz, there have been an average of nearly 1,000 DEATHS each day from Covid-19, yet Trump has ignored, denied and downplayed Covid-19 138+ times as of Ocotber 5. 

​

In early March you even thought the pandemic was a matter to laugh at and mock by wearing a gas mask in Congress after one of his constituents died from the COVID-19 disease.

And while Trump defames your constituents and neighbors, all you can say is "I will never love another President again!"

Your dad was a Republican, but he was never a party sycophant. How about some leadership from you instead of brown nosing!

​

When Donald Trump first announced he was running for office, I was hopeful he would be better than the normal politician.

​

He is much worse. Donald Trump is an immoral, unprincipled, hypocritical, narcissistic con man. He has a great ability to communicate, but he squanders this gift by lazily pandering to fear, anger & hatred.

​

He will never change with so many who ignore these traits, or worse cheer him on.

​
